Those the Ness Group support through the year

A ROCHA UK

A Rocha UK (ARUK) is a Christian charity working for the protection and restoration of the natural world and committed to equipping Christians and churches in the UK to care for the environment

MISSION AVIATION FELLOWSHIP

As a group each church supports the work of MAF who work in many areas in the world where the only realistic access is by air. MAF has many planes which are used to ferry essential equipment, medical supplies, bibles and personnel and they often bring people back who need urgent hospital treatment.

ACTIONAID CHILD SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM

Simon Silas Caleb has reached the age of 18 and we are not allowed to continue to sponsor him so we have Fatou who we now sponsor.

Fatou was born in 2013. Through messages and photographs we are learning about Fatou’s life in Niamina West, the community in The Gambia where she lives. Fatou attends a primary school in her own community and is a hard working student.

When welcoming children into our churches for Baptism Service part of the collection goes to support sponsored children. These children have none of the advantages our children have, we are pleased to give ongoing support through Action Aid. We do this on a monthly basis.

THE CHILDRENS SOCIETY

The collection from our annual Christingle Services throughout the Ness Group goes to The Children’s Society.

THE BRITISH LEGION

The money collected at The Ness Group Remembrance Services is sent to the local British Legion group.

LINCOLNSHIRE RURAL SUPPORT NETWORK

St Firmin’s Church support this charity with the collection at our annual Plough Sunday Service, and also in some years from our Harvest Collection.

CHARITIES

The Ness Group of Churches regularly support charities in developing countries and in this country with the Harvest Service Collection and Coffee Mornings.

CHRISTIAN AID

Several hundred pounds a year are raised through Lent Lunches at Baston and Langtoft, these are divided between the Church and Christian Aid.

St Firmins Church has a Soup Sunday from which all proceeds also go to Christian Aid.

BOURNE FOODBANK

St Firmin’ Church have a large Christmas card for all to sign and the money saved from giving each other cards and gifts go to the Bourne Foodbank.
