The Ness Group Christingle / Advent Carol Services

Sunday 30th November

Thurlby and Langtoft will be holding their Christingle Services in church at the following times:

3pm – St Michael, Langtoft

4pm – St Firmin, Thurlby

Baston will be holding an Advent Carol Service at 6pm – St John, Baston

Mothers’ Union

At this time of year especially, Mothers’ Union are standing in solidarity with women and girls everywhere.  We pray for freedom of choice and opportunities and protection against every kind of violence and abuse.  We pray that the time will come when all women and girls will be respected and cherished for their God-given gifts and talents. 

As Advent approaches, we look forward to a season of reflection and hope, preparing our hearts for the light of Christ to come.

Monthly Prayer Meeting Monday 1st December – 7.30pm – 9pm St Firmin’s  Monthly Prayer Meeting will be held at Eden Cottage, 79 Northorpe, Thurlby.  Prayer requests to Patsy and Peter – 01778 423505 or just come along and join us.

Board Games and Social Afternoon – Every Monday – 2pm – 4pm St John’s Church, Baston are pleased to announce our new Board Games & Social afternoon every Monday afternoon.  There will be a friendly space where you can enjoy a drink and play games.  If you may want to chat, read a book or even spend an hour before you do the school pick-up, please do come along and join us. 

Tuesday 2nd & 16th December – 2pm – Still Point & Church Café St John’s, Baston will be starting a new initiative in church. Meet at 2 pm for a quiet time with a Bible reading, prayers and music, followed at 2.30 by chat and a cuppa. Children are welcome with a parent/carer. Subsequent meetings will be at the same times on first and third Tuesdays each month.

Thursday 4th December – 12 noon to 1.30pm St John’s Church, Baston will be holding their final soup lunch for this year, with a nod to the festive season. Still just £6.50 for a bowl of homemade soup, roll & butter, hot dessert and custard, tea/coffee.  Baston school choir will be coming to sing to us, so please join us for this festive lunch.  The next lunch in the New Year will be on Thursday 8th January.

A Stitch in Time – Every Thursday evening 7-9pm and Saturday afternoon 2-4pm until Thursday 18th December. The stitching group in St John’s Church, Baston will be meeting in church.  Everyone is most welcome to come along.

Langtoft Open Church – Saturday 6th, 13th & 27th December – 10.30am – 12.30pm St Michael’s Church, Langtoft will be open again for tea, coffee, biscuits and chat.  Please do join us.

Sunday 14th December – 2pm to 4pm – Refresh Café St Firmin’s Church, Thurlby will be holding their Refresh Café in the church with Wreath Making, all materials provided.  Suggested donation £20 in aid of Don’t Lose Hope Charity, Bourne.  Tel: Ros 07415-297694 for availability. Also Christmas decorations on large cones.

Saturday 20th December – 10.30am – 2pm St Michael’s Church, Langtoft will be holding their monthly Festive Trees and Treats event in the church.    Come along and enjoy a lovely bacon or sausage butty, homemade soup.  They will also have their Christmas Lucky dip table and chocolate tombola and Hamper raffle, Christmas raffle and cake stall.  All welcome to attend.
