We have a rich pattern of services and events coming up to Easter and beyond.

Wednesday 1st April – 6pm Evening Prayer – St Firmin, Thurlby
Maundy Thursday 2nd April
11am – Lent Course – The Vicarage, Thurlby
6pm – Bring & Share Meal with Stripping of the Altar – St Firmin, Thurlby We would like to share a supper together. Please come along to Thurlby Church with something to share. We will eat together and have communion whilst seated around the table before going on to strip the altar.
Friday 3rd April 10am – All Age Service St John’s Church, Baston would like to invite you to make a shoebox-sized Easter garden based on the Easter story. Please bring it to church before the Good Friday service so it can be displayed in the church. Refreshments will follow the service.
2pm – Music & Reflection St Michaels, Langtoft will be holding a Music and Reflection service in the church.
Easter Sunday 6.20am – Sunrise Service This year we are joining the Methodist Church for their sunrise service. If you would like to come along please meet in St Firmin Church, Thurlby carpark at 6.20 and we can walk along the footpath together and join the service.
10am – Easter Eucharist Baston, Langtoft and Thurlby churches will be holding their Easter Holy Communion in the churches. All welcome to join us!
Other Events in the Parishes
Home Group – Thursdays at – 11am The Home Group will be meeting in the Vicarage, 10 Church Street on Thursday 2nd April and then break for Holy week and resume on Thursday 16th April. If you want to know more call Carolyn on 01778703093 or email: ness.rector@gmail.com
Langtoft Open Church Saturday 4th, 11th & 25th April – 10.30am – 12.30pm St Michael’s Church, Langtoft will be open again for tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits and toast. Board games available. All welcome.
Saturday 4th April – 2-4pm – Easter Craft Afternoon St Michael’s, Langtoft will be holding Art activities in church. Tea, coffee and refreshments will be available.
Your Move Games Afternoon Mondays from 13th April – 2pm – 4pm St John’s Church, Baston continue with their Board Games & Social afternoon every Monday afternoon after the Easter Break. There will be a friendly space where you can enjoy a drink and play games. You may want to chat, read a book or even spend an hour before you do the school pick-up. Please do come along and join us.
Monthly Prayer – Monday 13th April – 7.30pm – 9pm St Firmin’s Monthly Prayer meeting will take place in the home of Peter and Patsy Moore, 79 Northorpe. Do come along and join us or you can ring us with your prayer requests. Patsy and Peter on 01778 423505.
Still Point & Church Café – Tuesday 7th & 21st April – 2pm St John’s Church, Baston will be continuing with their Still Point and Church café in church. Meet at 2pm for a quiet time with a Bible reading, prayers and music, followed by our friendly church café at 2.30pm. Donation of £1 for adults, children free. Subsequent meetings will be at the same times on first and third Tuesdays each month.
A Stitch in Time – Saturdays and Thursdays The stitching group will be taking a break on 2nd & 4th April continuing every Thursday and Saturday after that.
Refresh Cafe – Sunday 12th April – 2pm – 4pm St Firmin Church, Thurlby will be holding their Refresh Café in church.
MOTHERS’ UNION Tuesday 21st April – 2.15pm The Mothers’ Union will be holding their monthly meeting at Almond Court. ‘Memories of Childhood’ – members are encouraged to bring photos or other items of interest. Saturday 18th April – 10.30am – 1pm St Michael’s Church, Langtoft will be holding their monthly Cake and Bacon Butty morning in the church. Come along and enjoy a lovely bacon butty, soup and/or cake, Tea, coffee, hot chocolate. Books, jigsaw, DVDs CD and Lucky Dip and Cake stall.
Repair Café – Sunday 26th April – 2pm to 5pm St Firmin Church, Thurlby will be holding their very popular Repair Café in the Methodist Church Hall. A meeting place to come and repair your broken items, seek professional advice and get inspiration and it is completely FREE.
