Board Games & Social Afternoon – Every Monday – 2pm – 4pm St John’s Church, Baston are pleased to announce our new Board Games & Social afternoon every Monday afternoon. There will be a friendly space where you can enjoy a drink and play games. If you may want to chat, read a book or even spend an hour before you do the school pick-up, please do come along and join us.
Monday 5th January – 7.30pm – 9pm St. Firmin’s Monthly Prayer Meeting at 79 Northorpe, Thurlby. Prayer requests to Patsy and Peter (01778 423505) – or come along and join us.
Tuesday 6th & 20th January – 2pm Still Point & Church Café
St John’s, Baston will be starting a new initiative in church. Meet at 2 pm for a quiet time with a Bible reading, prayers and music, followed at 2.30 by chat and a cuppa. Children are welcome with a parent/carer. Subsequent meetings will be at the same times on first and third Tuesdays each month.
Thursday 8th January – 12 noon to 1.30pm St John’s Church, Baston will be holding their Monthly Lunches. Soup & roll, pudding with custard, fruit, tea or coffee for just £6.50. All most welcome to come. Future dates for the lunches are 5th and 19th February, 5th and 26th March.
Langtoft Open Church 3rd, 10th, 31st January – 10.30am-12.30pm St Michael’s Church, Langtoft will be open again for tea, coffee, biscuits and toast. Please do join us.
A Stitch in Time Every Saturday 2pm – 4pm and every Thursday 7pm – 9pm. The stitching group returns after the Christmas break from Thursday 8th January. Everyone is welcome from seasoned stitchers to those wanting to learn.
Sunday 11th January – Refresh Cafe – 2pm – 4pm St Firmin’s Church, Thurlby will be holding their Refresh Café in the church – Chill out afternoon after all the festivities. Board games, Lego, Puzzles. All welcome.
Saturday 17th January – 10am – 1pm St Michael’s Church, Langtoft will be holding their monthly Cake and Bacon Butty morning in the church. Come along and enjoy a lovely bacon butty, soup, cake. Also the Lucky dip table and bits and bobs table. All welcome to attend.
Sunday 18th January – 10am The Ness Group will be holding a Group Service of Holy Communion with the Blessing of the Plough in St Firmin Church, Thurlby. All most welcome to attend.
Jamie’s Quest – Teenage Cancer Fundraiser Saturday 24th January – 10am – 4pm St Michael’s Church, Langtoft will be hosting a Teenage Cancer Fundraising event. Market Deeping Model Railway club along with fellow clubs from Sleaford, March and the NG34 Society have offered to support Jamie’s Quest at this special Teenage Cancer Fundraising Event, with a Model Railways Exhibition, not only to raise money but also bring awareness to Teenage Cancers. The exhibition is further supported by BRM magazine along with workshops and demonstrations. The event is sponsored by Trains4U. Tickets: adults £5-00 (accompanied children U16 free). Repair Café – Sunday 25th January – 2pm to 5pm St Firmin’s Church, Thurlby will be holding their very popular Repair Café in Thurlby Methodist Hall. A meeting place to come and repair your broken items, seek professional advice and get inspiration and it is completely FREE.
