WHATS ON IN THE NESS GROUP – JULY

Home Group – Every Wednesday evening 7pm – 8.30pm

Every Wednesday evening a group of us meet at the vicarage, we talk…a lot and we do some study.  If you want deep serious theology, then this group is not for you! If you want fellowship, a place to ask daft questions amongst a lot of laughter then please come along on Wednesday nights at 7pm – it’s all over by 8.30! Langtoft Open Church

Saturday 6th, 13th & 27th July – 10.30am – 12.30pm

St Michael’s Church, Langtoft will be open for tea, coffee, biscuits and chat.  Please do join us.

Advance notice  tea and coffee will not be available on Saturday August 10th due to services at the church .

A Stitch in Time-Every Saturday 2pm-4pm/Thursday 7pm-9pm

The stitching group in St John’s Church, Baston continues to grow. It’s a time for those wanting to meet likeminded folks for a natter and stitch. Everyone is welcome from seasoned stitchers to those wanting to learn.

Baston Warm Welcome – Every Monday – 2pm – 4pm

St John’s Church, Baston will be open for their weekly ‘Warm Welcome’ afternoon.  They will be providing a friendly space where you can enjoy a drink and a warm welcome.  You may want to chat, read a book or even spend an hour before you do the school pick-up. 

Monthly Prayer – Monday 1st July  – 7.30pm – 9pm

St Firmin’s Monthly Prayer meeting will take place in the home of Peter and Patsy Moore, Eden Cottage, 79 Northorpe.  For prayer requests please ring Patsy and Peter on 01778 423505 or  just come along!

MOTHERS’ UNION

Wednesday 3rd July – Garden Party

The Mothers’ Union will be holding a Garden Party with Bourne Mothers’ Union at 3 Sycamore Close, Bourne (details from Patsy on 01778 423505).   

Sunday 7th July – 3pm

The Mothers’ Union invite everyone who believes in marriage to join us at St Firmin’ Church, Thurlby for a special service of thanksgiving entitled ‘To have and to Hold’.  This will be an opportunity for couples to affirm their marriage vows.  There will be a display of wedding memorabilia – please bring anything you would like to bring to the display.  Cake and bubbly after the service.  Do come and join us—you don’t have to be married but just believe that marriage is the bedrock of a sound society.

Baston’s Big Arts & Crafts Bash

Saturday 13th – Sunday 14th July – 11am – 4pm

Everyone is welcome to Baston’s Big Arts & Crafts Bash held in St John’s Church, Baston.  Programmes £1. Refreshments throughout and a raffle each day. Cash please (no cards.) Proceeds to church funds.

Baston residents are being invited to loan work for display at this exhibition. There will also be cake making and flower competitions.

Sunday 14th July – 2pm – 3.30pm

As the Refresh Café is not on in July we will be having  a Treasure Hunt in July around the village.  This can be started any time after the 9th June and will finish at St Firmin’ Church, Thurlby on the 14th July where there will be the answers plus a well- deserved cup of tea and cake between 2pm and 3.30pm. The Treasure Hunt clues will be available at St Firmin’ Church or Thurlby Post Office.  A great family activity, why not have a go!

Refresh Café – Sundays July and August

Please note the Refresh Café will not be open in July and August.  We will  be back fresh to go again in September. 

Saturday 20th July – 10am – 1pm

St Michael’s Church, Langtoft will be holding their monthly Cake and Bacon Butty morning in the church.  Lucky dip table, homemade cakes, bacon butties, tea and coffee.  All welcome to attend.

Thursday 25th July – Music in Quiet Places

St Firmin Church, Thurlby will be hosting a Music in Quiet Places. Tickets available from Stamford Arts Centre.

Repair Café – Sunday 28th July – 2pm to 4.30pm

St Firmin Church, Thurlby will be holding their very popular Repair Café.  Please note that the Repair Cafe now meets at Thurlby Methodist Hall.  A meeting place to come and repair your broken items, seek professional advice and get inspiration and it is completely FREE.  So bring along something to repair or just come and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and a piece of delicious cake.  For more information please ring Mary Trumble on 01778 423500.
