WHATS ON IN THE NESS GROUP – SEPTEMBER

Ness Group Harvest Services

This year we will be holding the following Harvest Services which will take place on the following days. 

It would be lovely if you are able to come along and enjoy the services.

Sunday 22nd September – 10.30am – Joint Harvest Service with the Methodists at their chapel – Thurlby followed by a Ploughman’s Lunch – all invited.  Donations from the Service and lunch will go to Christian Aid.  Cash donations only no food donations requested.

Sunday 29th September – 10am – Group Harvest Service – Langtoft

Sunday 6th October – 10am – Morning Service with a Harvest theme – Baston

Home Group – 7pm – 8.30pm

Wednesday evenings in September except 11th

A group of us meet at the vicarage, we talk a lot and we do some study.  We are reading through Marks Gospel so please come along and join in.

Monday 2nd September – 7.30pm-9pm

St Firmin’s Monthly Prayer meeting will take place at Eden Cottage, 79 Northorpe.  Prayer requests to Peter and Patsy (01778 423505) or do come and join them.

Langtoft Open Church

Saturday 7th, 14th & 28th September – 10.30am – 12.30pm

St Michael’s Church, Langtoft will be open for tea, coffee, biscuits and toast.  Please do join us.

A Stitch in Time – Every Thursday evening 7-9pm and Saturday afternoon 2-4pm

The stitching group in St John’s Church, Baston will be meeting again in September.

Baston Warm Welcome – Every Monday – 2pm – 4pm

St John’s Church, Baston will be open for their weekly ‘Warm Welcome’ afternoon.  They will be providing a friendly space where you can enjoy a drink and a warm welcome.  You may want to chat, read a book or even spend an hour before you do the school pick-up. 

Refresh Café – Sunday 8th September  – 2pm –  4pm

St Firmin’s Church, Thurlby will be holding their Refresh Café in church.  Come along for a chat, tea and cake.  We will be having a table for home produce to share or swap – let nothing go to waste!

MOTHERS’ UNION

Tuesday 17th September – 2.15pm

The Mothers’ Union will be meeting at Almond Court Social Room, Northorpe.  The Speaker will be Len Cawston (former Security Guard) – ‘Memories of  serving on the Royal Train’.  We welcome anyone who would like to join us and if you would like more information about the Mothers’ Union please ring Patsy on 01778 423505.

Saturday 21st September – 10am – 1pm

St Michael’s Church, Langtoft will be holding their monthly Cake and Bacon Butty morning in the church.  Lucky dip table, homemade cakes, bacon butties, tea and coffee.  All welcome to attend.

Saturday 28th September – 10am – 4pm

St Firmin Church, Thurlby will be holding a Big Church Clean.  If you have half an hour to spare, whether you enjoy light activity or a more energetic one, please join us.  Your support, time and energy would be greatly appreciated.  Light refreshments provided.

Repair Café – Sunday 29th September – 2pm to 4.30pm

St Firmin Church, Thurlby will be holding their very popular Repair Café at Thurlby Methodist Hall.  A meeting place to come and repair your broken items, seek professional advice and get inspiration and it is completely FREE.  So bring along something to repair or just come and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and a piece of delicious cake.  For more information please ring Mary Trumble on 01778 423500.
