WHATS ON THE NESS GROUP – JUNE 2025

Langtoft Open Church – Every Saturday – 10.30am – 12.30pm St Michael’s Church, Langtoft will be open again for tea, coffee, biscuits , toast and jam or marmalade.  Also available are dominoes, cards, Jenga, draughts and Scrabble.  All Welcome.

A Stitch in Time-Every Saturday 2pm-4pm/Thursday 7pm-9pm The stitching group in St John’s Church, Baston continues to grow. It’s a time for those wanting to meet like-minded folks for a natter and stitch. Everyone is welcome from seasoned stitchers to those wanting to learn.

Monthly Prayer – Monday 2nd June – 7.30pm – 9pm St Firmin’s Monthly Prayer meeting will take place at Eden Cottage, 79 Northorpe.  Prayer requests to Patsy and Peter on 01778 423505 or just come along and join them.

Refresh Café  Sunday 8th June St Firmin’s Church, Thurlby Refresh Cafe is helping with the Open Gardens so will be at the Methodist Chapel. Gardens are open 1.30pm to 4.30pm. Passports available at the Methodist Church Hall. Lots going on and of course tea and cakes!

Saturday 21st June – 7pm – Music for a Summers Evening St Firmin Church, Thurlby will be holding Music for a Summers Evening in the Church, featuring two local Ladies Choirs. For tickets contact Mary on 07432 156298.

Saturday 21st June – 10am – 2pm St Michael’s Church, Langtoft have had to cancel their Cake and Bacon Butty morning.  Due to the toilet and servery building project in their church, the cake and bacon butty mornings have been suspended for a while, but they will be back.

MOTHERS’ UNION Tuesday 24th June – 3pm We will be The Mothers’ Union will be joined by members of Bourne and Market Deeping branches for a GARDEN PARTY at 37 High Street, Thurlby.  Details from Patsy (01778 423505).

Feast Weekend – to Celebrate John the Baptist To celebrate the feast of John the Baptist, Baston Church will be holding the following events.  Please do come along and help us make our weekend special!

Saturday 28th June at 7.30pm – Pennyless Concert St John the Baptist Church, Baston are delighted to welcome Pennyless to Baston Church.  Doors open at 7pm.  Penny on the fiddle and Les on guitar with Ray on banjo, mandolin and guitar along with Colin Benton on bass.  Songs, harmony, personality, humour based in the English folk tradition with nods to Irish and American sounds.  Raffle and refreshments too.  Come along for what promises to be a great evening!  Tickets – adults £10; child (14 and under) £5 are available from Baston shop (cash only) or by emailing bastonctf@gmail.com or phoning Maryon on 07471 198 497 or on the door (if there are any left.  Cash only).  More information about PENNYLESS on their website: pennyless-music.co.uk

Repair Café – Sunday 29th June – 2pm to 4.30pm St Firmin Church, Thurlby will be holding their very popular Repair Café at Thurlby Methodist Hall.  A meeting place to come and repair your broken items, seek professional advice and get inspiration and it is completely FREE.  So bring along something to repair or just come and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and a piece of delicious cake.  For more information please ring Mary Trumble on 07432 156298.

Situations Vacant St John’s Church are looking for a new PCC secretary, this is an ideal way of finding out what goes on in your church.We have approximately 6 meetings a year which need minutes taking and preparation for the Annual meetings.
