Saturday 1st September – 10am to 12 noon St. Michael’s Church, Langtoft will be holding their Saturday Sale in church. Freshly made bacon butties to have with tea or coffee, cake stall, ‘Pot-Luck’ table. They need home-made cakes or biscuits to sell at these sales. Any donations most welcome! The church is open each Saturday during the month, between 10am and 12 noon, and coffee and tea are available. The Saturday Sale on 6th October will be a table top sale from 10am to 2pm. As well as our usual refreshments, light lunches will be served from 12noon. The charge for a 6ft table is £5.00 which includes complimentary coffee or tea during the sale. Also on the same day – 10.30am to 12 noon St. Firmin’s Church, Thurlby will be open every Saturday for you to come and sit quietly and enjoy the peace and quiet of the church, light a candle in memory of a loved one, place flowers in the Lady Chapel or just have a chat with the welcomer. Refreshments available. Sunday 2nd September – 12 noon We welcome the family and friends of Georgia Mendez as she is baptised into the worldwide church in St Michael’s Church, Langtoft. Monday 3rd September – 7.30pm Prayer Meeting at Peter and Patsy Moore’s home – 79 Northorpe, Thurlby, for the work of St. Firmin’s. Everyone welcome. Saturday 15th September – 7.30pm St Firmin Church, Thurlby will be holding a Not To Be Missed Event called ‘Peter the Rock’ – the story of St Peter told in words and music, written by the Reverend Richard Rice-Oxley. Tickets £8 (includes refreshments) accompanied children free and are available from Patsy and Peter Moore – 01778 423505 or on the door. Tuesday 18th September – 2.15pm The Mothers’ Union will be holding their monthly meeting in St Firmin’s Church Hall, Thurlby. |

We congratulate Alice Nicholls and Ethan Davidson as they are married in St Michael, Langtoft. Sunday 23rd September – 10.30am The Methodist church, Thurlby have invited St Firmin’s to join them for their harvest celebration, with this in mind there will be no 10am service at St Firmin’s but please come and join us at the Methodist Church in Thurlby. Monday 24th September – 2pm The Ness Group Film Club meets in the Church Hall in Thurlby. The film is “The Man who shop Liberty Valance”. Donation of £2.50. Please do come along and have a nice relaxing time watching the film and then chatting to friends afterwards while you have afternoon tea. Tuesday 25th September – 2.30pm There will be a Service of Thanksgiving for the Mothers’ Union in St Benedict’s Centre, Lincoln conducted by Bishop Christopher. Harvest Lunch – Wednesday 26th September – 12noon – 2pm St Michael’s Church, Langtoft will be holding a Harvest Lunch in church. A delicious home cooked 3-course meal of Harvest vegetable soup, cold ham with baked potato and mixed salad, and apple pie and custard. Tickets £9 and will be on sale from early September. Sunday 2nd September – 1pm We welcome the family and friends of Stanley Groom as he is baptised into the worldwide church in St Firmin church, Thurlby. Afternoon Tea at the Vicarage Thursday 27th September from 2pm to 4pm Revd Carolyn Bailey will be having an open afternoon at the Vicarage. A chance to pop along have tea, cake and a chat. All will be most warmly welcomed. Sunday 30th September – 3pm There will be a service of a Celebration of Marriage and Family Life – 95 years of Mothers Union held in St Firmin Church, Thurlby. All friends and families in the Ness Group are invited to join in the celebration service followed by tea and cake after the service. |
