APCMs in the Ness Group

This year Annual Parochial Church Meetings will be held

 on the following dates:

Thurlby: 11.15 in Church on the 26th March 

Langtoft:  1pm in Church  on the 15th May

Baston: 8pm in Church on the 15th May

Holy Week and Easter Services

Why not join us in Holy Week with our services in different churches in the group to help prepare you for Easter Day.

Sunday 2nd April – Palm Sunday – Normal services in each of the churches

Monday 3rd April – 6pm – Evening Prayer, St John, Baston.

Tuesday 4th April – 6pm – Taize Service, St Michael, Langtoft.

Wednesday 5th April – 7pm – Lent Course in the Vicarage, Thurlby.

Maundy Thursday 6th April – 7pm – Holy Communion with stripping of the altar, St Firmin, Thurlby.

Good Friday 7th April

10am – All Ages Service with Easter Gardens, St John, Baston.

2-3pm – Music & Reflection, St Michael, Langtoft

Easter Sunday

8am – BCP Holy Communion, St John, Baston

10am – Holy Communion in each of the churches

Monday 3rd, 10th, 17th & 24th April – 2pm – 4pm

St John the Baptist Church, Baston will be open for their weekly ‘Warm Places’ afternoon.  They will be providing a warm space where you can enjoy a hot drink and a warm welcome.  You may want to chat, read a book or even spend an hour before you pick up a young person from school.

Tuesday 4th April – 11am – Lincoln Cathedral

Chrism Eucharist will be taking place at Lincoln Cathedral.  If you are interested in going please let me know, a few of us are planning to go and perhaps find somewhere for lunch afterwards.  Carolyn (01778 703093).

Good Friday 7th April – 10am

St John’s, Baston will be holding a short All Ages Service in church.  We will be asking families to make an Easter garden about the Easter story at home and bring it into church before the service.  We will then have a short  service followed by hot cross buns and a drink.  All most welcome to come along.

Saturday 15th April – 10am until 2pm – Craft Café

St Michael and All Angels Church, Langtoft will be holding a Craft Café in church.  Lots of stalls (if you would like a stall selling your own homemade crafts contact Claire Naylor on 01778 343717). Refreshments available Bacon butties, Cake stall, Tea, coffee Raffle.  All Welcome

Sunday 16th April – 2pm – 4pm – Refresh Café

St Firmin Church, Thurlby will be holding their Refresh Café in the church.  Crafts to make and buy.  Also a chance to try and buy or order delicious local rare breed pork and pork products from pigs reared in Thurlby. Tea, cakes and chat. Free event – all welcome.

Mothers’ Union

Tuesday 18th April –  2.15pm

The Mothers’ Union will be holding their monthly meeting in St. Firmin’s Church Hall.  ‘Coronation Memories’  –  a time to share memories and souvenirs of the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II (mindful of the fact that some members were too young or not even born in 1953!).  We welcome anyone who  would like to join us as we look back on how life has changed since then.  For more information ring Patsy on 01778 423505.

Thursday 20th April – Threads Through Creation

A wonderful exhibition called Threads Through Creation by Jacqui Parkinson is at Peterborough Cathedral.  Some of you remember the lovely afternoon looking at Threads Through Revelation. If you would be interested in going as a group please let me know. We can look at the Exhibition then have some refreshment afterwards.  Carolyn 01778 703093.

Sunday 30th April – 2pm to 5pm

St Firmin Church, Thurlby will be holding their very popular Repair Café in the Church Hall.  A meeting place to come and repair all of your broken items, seek professional advice and get inspiration and it is completely FREE.  So bring along something to repair or just come and enjoy a cup of tea and a piece of delicious cake.  For more information please ring Mary Trumble on 01778 423500.
