Pop in for Prayer

Friday 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th & 31st May – 9.15am to 10am

St John the Baptist Church, Baston will be holding a pop in for a quiet time of prayer. Take a moment out of the hustle and bustle; pause and pray. No need to book, everyone welcome.

Saturday Sale – Saturday 4th May – 10am to 12 noon

St. Michael and All Angels Church, Langtoft will be holding their Saturday Sale in church.  Freshly made bacon butties to have with tea or coffee.  Cake stall, bric-a-brac, CDs and DVDs and our popular ‘Pot Luck’ table.  Homemade cakes and other produce to sell on the cake stall are always in demand.

Please note that there will not be a Saturday Sale on 1st June as it will be the Summer Fayre in the afternoon.

The church is open each Saturday during the month, between 10am and 12 noon and coffee and tea are available.

Prayer Meeting – Tuesday 7th May – 7.30pm

Monday 6th May is a Bank Holiday therefore this will take place on the Tuesday.  Prayer Meeting at Peter and Patsy Moore’s home – 79 Northorpe, Thurlby – we welcome your prayer requests and enquiries – please ring Patsy on 01778 423505 or leave a note on the prayer board in the porch at St Firmin Church, Thurlby.

Saturday 11th May – 7.30pm

St Firmin Church, Thurlby will be holding an evening concert with ‘Pennyless’.  Tickets £10 to include a complimentary buffet.  They are available from Ros Bennett on 01778 424629.  Please bring you own drink.

Tuesday 14th May – 2pm to 4pm

Rev Carolyn Bailey will be hosting another of her lovely Afternoon Teas at the vicarage.  All most welcome to come along and have a cuppa and a natter.

Mothers’ Union

Tuesday 14th May – 10am to 3.30pm

The Mothers’ Union will be holding a Quiet Day at Bishop Grosseteste University Chapel.  The morning session will be Thy Kingdom Come—Global Wave of Prayer and the afternoon session will be Walk a Labyrinth with Kate Brown.  We welcome anyone who would like to join us for this or any of our events.  There is no charge for this event.

Tuesday 21st May – 2.15pm

The Mothers’ Union will be holding their monthly meeting in the Church Hall, Thurlby.  Speaker will be Mrs Anne Batty – The Church of England Overseas.

Sunday 26th May – 2pm to 5pm

St Firmin Church, Thurlby will be holding their very popular Repair Café in the Church Hall.  A meeting place to come and repair all of your broken items, seek professional advice and get inspiration and it is completely FREE.  So bring along something to repair or just come and enjoy a cup of tea and a piece of delicious cake.  For more information please ring Mary Trumble on 01778 423500.

Monday 27th May

Please note that The Ness Group Film Club will not take place this month as it is a Bank Holiday.  Normal service will resume on 24th June with the showing of The Greatest Showman.

Advance Notice

Saturday 1st June – 2pm – 4.30pm

St Michael’s Church, Langtoft will be holding their Summer Fayre.  Big changes this year as it will start in the afternoon along with stretching out into the garden of Mike & Debbie’s to incorporate children’s games and live musical entertainment to make it a fun afternoon for everyone.  All the usual stalls plus a plant still which will be  inside the church.  Barbecue and tea and cakes will be served.

If anyone has a gazebo that the church could borrow for the afternoon, please let Judy Robinson know.

Thursday 6th June

St Firmin Church, Thurlby will be holding a ‘Music in Quiet Places – Castalian String Quartet.  There will be 20 tickets available on the door on the day but to be sure you get a seat please book with the Arts Centre, Stamford.

Saturday 22nd June – 7pm for 7.30pm start
