Whats on in the Ness Group – November 2019

Every Friday in November

St John the Baptist Church will be holding a Morning Prayer time every Friday morning.

Saturday 2nd November – 10am to 2pm

St Firmin Church, Thurlby will be holding an ‘Angel Workshop’ in the church hall, Thurlby for their Angel Festival in December.  We are going to be shown ideas of how to make large and small angels and to make some ourselves.  Light Refreshments will be available.

Saturday Sale – Saturday 2nd November – 10am to 2pm

St. Michael and All Angels Church, Langtoft will be holding their Table Top Sale.  Tables of 6ft long cost £5 to include coffee and tea during the sale.  Light lunches from midday.  There will also be cakes and produce. The church is open each Saturday during the month, between 10am and 12 noon and coffee and tea are available.

Prayer Meeting – Monday 4th November – 7.30pm

St Firmin’s monthly Prayer Meeting will be held at Peter and Patsy Moore’s home – 79 Northorpe, Thurlby – everyone is welcome and prayer requests please give to Patsy or Peter Moore – ring 01778 423505.

Mothers’ Union

Monday 4th November – 10am to 2pm

The Mothers’ Union will be holding their Winter Council Meeting at Horncastle.

Tuesday 19th November – 2.15pm

The Mothers’ Union will be holding their Monthly Meeting in the Church Hall, Thurlby.  Preparing for the Angel Festival with Ros Bennett.  All Welcome to attend.

Monday 25th November – 11am

The Mothers’ Union will be showing our support for the ‘16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence, Domestic Abuse and Modern Day Slavery’.  We invite anyone who feels strongly about these issues to join us at Lincoln Cathedral for a short time of prayer before walking down Steep Hill in procession (with banners and leaflets to hand out), finishing at St Peter at Gowts where we shall conclude with (hopefully) an outdoor service.  Hot soup and rolls, tea and coffee will be available in the church hall.  If you don’t feel you can do the walk—why not  join us at St Peter’s—we hope to arrive there at approximately 12 noon, but the hall will be open from 11am.  If you would like more information about this or any other aspect of Mothers’ Union work, please ring Patsy on 01778 423505.

Monthly Lunches – Thursday 7th November – 12noon -1.30pm

St John the Baptist, Baston will be holding their very popular Monthly Lunch.  Soup, roll and butter, hot pudding with custard, tea or coffee still only £5 adult and £1.50 pre school children who have a choice of beans or pasta shapes.

Remembrance Services in the Ness Group

Our Remembrance Services will be held on Sunday 10th November at 10.45am

Sunday 24th November – 2pm to 5pm

St Firmin Church, Thurlby will be holding their very popular Repair Café in the Church Hall.  A meeting place to come and repair all of your broken items, seek professional advice and get inspiration and it is completely FREE.  So bring along something to repair or just come and enjoy a cup of tea and a piece of delicious cake.  For more information please ring Mary Trumble on 01778 423500.

Film Club – Monday 25th November

The Ness Group Film Club meets in the Church Hall in Thurlby.  The film is “Emma”.  Donation of £2.50.  Please do come along and have a nice relaxing time watching the film and then chatting to friends afterwards while you have afternoon tea.
